A familiar thrill is returning to the Greater Toronto Area as Canada’s Wonderland prepares to open its gates on May 3rd. This year marks the rebirth of a beloved coaster, reimagined for a new generation of adrenaline seekers.
The DareDeviler, formerly known as Flight Deck and originally Top Gun in 1995, is soaring back to life. This isn’t just a repaint; it’s a complete revitalization designed to recapture the spirit of the Grande World Expo area and deliver a more immersive experience.
Expect a smoother, more comfortable ride thanks to track refinements and entirely new trains. The updated design features improved seating and an open, vest-style restraint system, promising a thrilling yet secure experience as you twist and dive through the air.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. AlpenFury, the record-breaking launch coaster that captivated guests last year, returns as Canada’s longest, tallest, and fastest. It still holds the world record for the most inversions on a launch coaster – a staggering nine.
The park is also introducing a new chaperone policy, effective May 1st, aimed at ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all. Guests 15 years old and under will require a chaperone aged 21 or older after 4 p.m. each day.
This policy builds upon the success of Operation Beehave, launched by York Police in 2022, which addressed incidents involving unsupervised teens both inside and outside the park. The goal is to proactively prevent disturbances and ensure a positive experience for everyone.
Beyond the coasters, guests can look forward to the return of popular events like Brew & BBQ in June, alongside three captivating live shows featuring cirque, acrobatics, and musical performances.
Even the park’s sweet treats are getting an upgrade. The flagship candy shop has been transformed into The Sweet Spot, offering a delightful assortment of handcrafted delights. Prepare for decadent creations like the Choco Crispy Bites Funnel Cake, a layered masterpiece of marshmallow, chocolate, and ice cream.
