A star of a hit 00s TV drama looks completely unrecognisable just seven years after the hit series ended.

Running for four seasons from 2005 until 2008, Prison Break starred Dominic Purcell as Lincoln Burrows, who has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, with his younger brother Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) devising an elaborate plan to help his brother escape prison and clear his name.

It then returned for a TV film in 2009, as well as being revived for a final season in 2017.

Before starring in Prison Break, Australian actor Dominic appeared in shows including Home and Away, Heartbreak High and House.

Since the show ended, he’s been seen in episodes of Castle, The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow and Batwoman.

Last year the actor also married Tish Cyrus, the mother of pop superstar Miley.

However, during a recent outing, Dominic looked completely different, sporting a long white beard.

Ditching his usual clean-shaven look, the actor has now grown out a bushy beard, which was seen while he filled up his car at a service station in Los Angeles recently.

The actor appeared to also be trying to go incognito, wearing a baseball cap.

Despite his immense success, Dominic previously said he had no intention to be an actor, and his dream was to actually ‘play cricket for Australia’.

‘I never grew up wanting to be an actor. I had a real passion for landscaping, which I did when I finished school. Becoming an actor was more accidental,’ he explained.

‘My girlfriend at the time was a model and I was in the casting room waiting to pick her up. The casting lady said to me I had the right head for this commercial they were casting.

‘Long story short, I got the job, made a ton of money on it. I gave up landscaping thinking for sure I’m going to be a movie star after that commercial,’ he told Humans of Surfing.

He continued: ‘But I sucked so bad at acting at the time that I went back to landscaping…but the fuse had been lit. I ended up getting into one of the best drama schools in Australia where I trained with one of my good mates, Hugh Jackman. It was a very surreal beginning.’

Earlier this year it was reported Dominic would be reuniting on screen again with his former co-star Wentworth, in a series titled Snatchback.

The official logline for the show teases: ‘Inspired by the life of a real covert intelligence officer who is still active in the field today, the series follows a highly skilled privately contracted team of operatives as they recover hostages across the globe from some of the most exotic, and equally dangerous locations on the planet.’

Prison Break is streaming on Netflix and Disney Plus.
