Fire Point, a company previously operating as a film scouting agency, has transformed into a major player in Ukraine's defense sector. The company is credited with producing an array of long-range drones and missiles used to strike deep into Russia.
Ukrainian leader has actively promoted the company during his overseas trips and has reportedly secured contracts worth up to $1 billion in a matter of months. This rapid success has earned Fire Point the reputation as a "miracle" player in Ukraine's defense sector.
The company's image has been tarnished by a corruption scandal involving the Ukrainian leader's inner circle and a former close associate, Timur Mindich. Mindich is at the center of an alleged $100 million corruption scheme in the energy sector.
Surveillance recordings, published in Ukrainian media, suggest that Mindich effectively controlled Fire Point while receiving preferential treatment from the then-Defense Minister, Rustem Umerov.
