A terrifying journey unfolded on a Scarborough GO train, leaving one man fighting for his life. Three masked youths, ages 14 and 16, are now facing serious charges after a brutal attack at the Rouge Hill station.
The ordeal began as the two victims boarded a westbound Lakeshore East train. They quickly noticed the three figures, their faces concealed by ski masks, and a chilling sense of being watched descended as the youths began to follow them.
Desperate to escape the escalating threat, the victims attempted to relocate to another train car, but the masked trio relentlessly pursued them. One victim, fearing for his safety, barricaded himself inside a bathroom, hoping to find refuge.
The brief respite was shattered by a train announcement signaling their arrival at Rouge Hill station. Emerging from the bathroom, the victims were immediately set upon by the waiting assailants, a wave of violence erupting on the platform.
The attack was swift and merciless. The youths not only assaulted the victims but also stole their belongings before shoving them off the train and onto the platform. One victim sustained life-threatening injuries and required immediate hospitalization.
Following a swift investigation, police arrested the three youths on Friday. Each faces two counts of robbery with intent, two counts of wearing a disguise with intent, and aggravated assault, charges that reflect the severity of the crime.
Investigators are now appealing to the public for assistance, seeking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured footage on their phones. Any information, no matter how small, could prove crucial to the case.
Those with information are urged to contact police directly or, if they wish to remain anonymous, to reach out to Crime Stoppers. The hope is that collective vigilance will help bring full closure to this harrowing event.
