LOUIS THE LEGEND: Border Cat Now Has His Own ROAD SIGN!

LOUIS THE LEGEND: Border Cat Now Has His Own ROAD SIGN!

A feline adventurer named Louis Vuitton is causing quite a stir in South Surrey, British Columbia – and occasionally, a traffic slowdown. This isn’t your average housecat; Louis routinely crosses the international border between Canada and the United States with a nonchalance that defies logic and law.

Residents along Zero Avenue, witnessing Louis’s daily escapades, have taken matters into their own hands. A handmade sign, crafted by local artisan Bob Christy, now stands as a charming warning to drivers: watch for the border-crossing cat. The sign, complete with a whimsical wooden cat figure, is a testament to Louis’s rebellious spirit.

The street already features speed bumps to enforce a 30 km/h limit, but Louis adds another layer of caution. Drivers are now reminded to slow down, not just for the speed limit, but for the possibility of a furry friend casually strolling across the road. His journeys have captured the attention of people far beyond the local community.

A handmade sign has been put up near where a border-hopping cat named Louis Vuitton regularly crosses in South Surrey, B.C. The sign was created by a local craftsman to serve as a warning sign to drivers to watch out for the intrepid feline.

Louis’s border crossings aren’t elaborate affairs. He simply hops over a shallow ditch separating British Columbia from Washington State, seemingly oblivious to the strict border regulations and the watchful eyes of U.S. officials. It’s a remarkably simple route, yet one that has made him an international sensation.

His owner, Deb Tate, describes Louis as an exceptionally friendly cat, though his adventurous streak wasn’t always apparent. He clearly enjoys the company of people on both sides of the border, readily accepting belly rubs and attention from anyone he encounters. He’s a social butterfly with a passport of his own, of sorts.

On the Canadian side, Louis enjoys the comforts of home and a row of friendly houses. Across the ditch lies the expansive green space of Peace Arch Historical State Park, a tempting hunting ground. Despite the presence of cameras and border patrol, Louis navigates this area with unwavering confidence.

Louis’ rise to internet stardom kicked off after a viral Instagram video showed him prowling the border between British Columbia and Washington state.

Neighbors have even observed Louis hunting in the U.S. and proudly returning to Canada with his prizes, completely bypassing customs. One resident playfully remarked, “He doesn’t go through customs. He’s got a pawsport!” It’s a testament to his audacity and charm.

As Louis approaches his sixth birthday on Canada Day, he’s fully embracing his newfound fame. His rise to internet stardom began with a viral Instagram video showcasing his nonchalant border crossings. The clip, capturing his casual disregard for international boundaries, quickly resonated with viewers worldwide.

The video’s caption perfectly encapsulates Louis’s attitude: “There’s a cat that doesn’t really give a f— about borders.” He simply wanders across, hunts in the ditch, and carries on with his day, a furry ambassador of freedom and a delightful anomaly in a world of rules and regulations.
