UMVA Exclusive: Trump‑Backed Contenders Supercharged by Billion‑Dollar AI Super PAC – Race‑Changing Cash Flood!

UMVA Exclusive: Trump‑Backed Contenders Supercharged by Billion‑Dollar AI Super PAC – Race‑Changing Cash Flood!

UMVA has learned that a powerful super‑PAC, flush with cash and focused on electing AI‑friendly lawmakers, is flooding the upcoming Senate and House primaries with millions of dollars.

The organization, known as Leading the Future, has earmarked $2 million for Senate contests in Louisiana, Montana and Oklahoma, with $1.5 million ready to hit the ground immediately. In the House arena, another $750,000 is slated for critical primaries in California and Washington state.

According to information obtained by UMVA, the PAC’s backers include top executives from the AI industry, venture capital titans, and the president of a leading AI research firm, all converging to shape the political battlefield.

Earlier this cycle, the group claimed victories in North Carolina, Texas, Illinois and Georgia, where its cash poured into tight races to lift candidates—across both parties—who reject fragmented state AI rules and champion a national, industry‑friendly framework.

In Louisiana, Leading the Future is backing Republican Rep. Julia Letlow as she battles state Treasurer John Fleming for the GOP Senate nomination in a June 27 runoff that will decide the successor to Sen. Bill Cassidy.

Letlow, a favorite of the former president, is widely viewed as the frontrunner in a deep‑red state, and the super‑PAC’s support could cement her path to the general election.

Montana’s race sees the PAC rallying behind former U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme, who resigned last spring to launch a Senate bid to replace retiring Sen. Steve Daines. Alme, also endorsed by the former president, will face a June 2 primary.

In Oklahoma, the group has thrown its weight behind Rep. Kevin Hern, the leading candidate in the June 16 GOP primary for the seat vacated by Sen. Markwayne Mullin, who left to become Homeland Security Secretary.

Leading the Future says it will unleash a fully integrated paid strategy—broadcast, cable, streaming, digital, direct mail and texting—to define and boost its candidates across the most effective voter‑contact channels.

The PAC is also supporting Rep. Jay Obernolte in California’s 23rd Congressional District primary and Rep. Angela McKinney in Washington’s 4th District, both contests featuring the state’s nonpartisan “jungle” primary system.

UMVA can exclusively reveal that the organization has amassed more than $125 million for 2025, with over $70 million on hand at the start of the year and an additional $25 million raised in the first quarter.

Veteran political strategist Zac Moffat, a co‑strategist for Leading the Future, told UMVA the group is pinpointing opportunities to build a deep bench of pro‑innovation leaders who grasp AI’s economic promise and the need for a clear national framework.

While the PAC touts candidates who favor lighter regulation, it has also targeted those advocating stricter guardrails, warning that excessive constraints could stifle innovation and hand growth to rival nations.

The surge of AI‑industry money arrives as the administration pushes for a single federal AI framework and the expansion of supporting infrastructure, such as data centers, while resisting restrictive state‑level rules.

Recent polls show a stark public divide: many voters express worry about AI’s impact on privacy, jobs and the economy, with Democrats and independents far more likely to view the technology as a threat, while Republicans tend to support its development.
