FRIGIDAIRE OVENS: DANGER ALERT - STOP USING NOW!

FRIGIDAIRE OVENS: DANGER ALERT - STOP USING NOW!

A silent danger lurks in kitchens across Canada. Thousands of gas ovens are now subject to a widespread recall, following reports of painful and unexpected burns.

The issue centers around Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, and Frigidaire Professional gas ranges. A critical flaw causes a dangerous delay in the ignition of the oven’s bake burner, creating a hidden risk for unsuspecting cooks.

Health Canada issued the urgent recall after at least one confirmed injury within the country. The situation is even more concerning south of the border, where 30 people have been burned in 62 separate incidents reported to the manufacturer, Electrolux Group.

Frigidaire gas ranges recalled in Canada over burn risk.

Imagine preheating your oven, anticipating a delicious meal, only to be met with a sudden, unexpected flare-up. This is the terrifying reality for owners of the affected ranges.

The agency is issuing a stark warning: immediately discontinue use of the oven function on these ranges. Contact Electrolux Group to schedule a free repair – a crucial step to protect yourself and your family.

It’s important to note that cooktop burners on these Frigidaire models remain safe for use. The recall specifically targets the oven component and its potentially hazardous ignition delay.

These affected gas ranges were sold over a period spanning from June 2025 to January 2026. A significant number – 5,318 units – are currently in Canadian homes, while over 174,800 are in the United States.

To determine if your oven is part of the recall, check the serial number. Ranges with serial numbers falling within the VF52200000 – VF54399999 range are affected and should not be used.

Electrolux Group has acknowledged the severity of the issue, emphasizing consumer safety as their “top priority.” They are working in collaboration with Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to address the problem.

A free repair, involving the installation of a new bake burner, is available to all affected owners. This repair will be performed in the comfort of your own home, eliminating any inconvenience.

Don’t gamble with your safety. Contact Electrolux Group directly at 1-866-291-7629 or via email at gasovenburnerrecall@electrolux.com to arrange for the necessary repair and safeguard your kitchen.
