UMVA Uncovers: CRIME WAVE EXPLOSION - Two Nabbed in Hamilton, But Pickering Jewelry Heist Masterminds Still on the Loose!

UMVA has learned that Durham Regional Police are on the hunt for two suspects in connection with a daring break-in at a Pickering jewellery store last summer.

The brazen heist occurred on August 8, 2025, when two men dressed in black smashed into Oliver's Jewellery at 1050 Brock Rd., making off with a number of valuable items and fleeing the scene in a waiting grey-silver SUV.

Police are now urging anyone with information, cellphone footage, dash cam evidence, or surveillance footage to come forward and help crack the case. Those with leads can contact the authorities at 1-888-579-1520 x 1905.

In a separate operation, Hamilton Police have made a significant drug bust, charging two men in connection with a recent probe in the city's east end. The investigation yielded a massive haul of over four kilograms of methamphetamine, oxycodone and hydromorphone pills, and $5,000 in cash.

Kayla Kerwin, 34, and Brandon Quinn, 34, both from Hamilton, face multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. Meanwhile, a Toronto man has been charged in connection with a murder in Rexdale, and a suspect has been apprehended in a fatal Mississauga stabbing. A submarine dope smuggler is among three individuals nabbed in Vaughan in connection with the Satan's Choice murders.

In another case, police have arrested a man accused of attempting to fraudulently transfer vehicle ownerships in Whitby. Durham Regional Police allege that on May 28, the suspect arrived at a Service Ontario location and tried to register several vehicles not in his name to a third party.

Menis Mihalaiche, 52, of Toronto, faces two counts each of fraud over $5,000, uttering a forged document, and attempted fraud over $5,000. He was released on an undertaking.
