The fallen officer, 29-year-old Const. Tarun Bali, was a nearly three-year veteran of the force and a Brampton native who had been deployed with the James Bay Detachment, exemplifying the kind of courage and dedication that defines the very best of law enforcement.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, when OPP members were conducting an investigation at a location near Hearst, and Const. Bali was fatally injured while selflessly attempting to protect and serve others, a testament to the ultimate sacrifice he made in the pursuit of justice.
