ACMobility, Kia’s affiliate, positions the EV5 as a bridge between cutting-edge global technology and the specific needs of Filipino drivers. This commitment is bolstered by the Philippine EV Spine, a growing network of charging stations designed to alleviate range anxiety and empower EV adoption nationwide.
The EV5 boasts a potent combination of features, focusing on instant electric performance, impressive driving range, and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems. Beyond the technology, Kia emphasizes a “smart and spacious interior” designed for both practicality and comfort, all built upon a dedicated EV platform.
Powering the EV5 is a permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 217ps and 310Nm of torque. Early impressions from a preview event at Nuvali reveal a surprisingly nimble and responsive driving experience, free from the lag often associated with internal combustion engines. The absence of an engine also contributes to a remarkably quiet cabin.
Two variants are available: the GL, priced at P2.298 million, and the GLS, at P2.698 million. The key distinction lies in battery capacity. The GLS offers a substantial 88.1-kWh battery, providing a range of approximately 550 kilometers, while the GL features a 64.2-kWh battery with a 400-kilometer range.
The EV5’s exterior embodies Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, featuring a distinctive Digital Tiger Nose Grille illuminated with a striking Star Map LED pattern. It rides on stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, with the GLS variant adding a panoramic sunroof for an enhanced open-air experience.
Inside, the EV5 presents a futuristic and angular design. A floating, all-digital screen seamlessly integrates the infotainment system, instrument cluster, and climate controls. While generally intuitive, designers thoughtfully retained physical buttons for essential climate functions, recognizing the value of tactile control.

Kia Philippines sweetens the deal with a comprehensive Home Charging Package, including a home charger, a P25,000 installation subsidy, and a two-year warranty. Buyers also receive P2,000 in charging credits for use at ACMobility EC Charging Stations.
