Police halted an Islamic gathering at Shrubland Hall in Suffolk after arresting twelve individuals suspected of plotting a far‑right terror attack.
Three men, aged 55, 60 and 82, were taken into custody in Surrey on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, while a 48‑year‑old woman was arrested in east London for allegedly assisting an offender.
Eight additional men were detained under section 41 of the Terrorism Act. Arrests were made across several locations, including Surrey, Essex, Ipswich, Greater Manchester and London.
The event, which attracted thousands of attendees, was concluded early as a precautionary measure. Organisers described the gathering as a peaceful religious assembly focused on prayer, reflection and community values.
Authorities emphasized that the national threat level remains at “severe,” urging the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
