The change, effective March 30th, aims to lessen the strain on the country’s power grid, a consequence of global disruptions impacting fuel and energy supplies.
SM Supermalls, with its extensive network of 90 branches, will now operate from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm on weekdays and extend to 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on weekends.
Robinsons Malls, managing 53 locations, is implementing a similar schedule: 11:00 am to 9:00 pm during the week, and 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Luxury shoppers will find adjusted hours at Opus Mall, also operated by Robinsons Land, opening from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm weekdays and 10:00 am to 10:00 pm weekends.
Ayala Malls, encompassing 30 branches, will also shorten its weekday operations, closing at 9:00 pm, while weekend hours remain until 10:00 pm.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, with 18 locations, is taking a more individualized approach, with specific hours varying by mall; cinema schedules are also being modified to reflect the energy conservation efforts.
Vista Malls, boasting over 30 locations, will operate from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm on weekdays and 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on weekends, mirroring the adjustments of many other major chains.
Starmalls, under the Vistamalls Inc. umbrella, is also aligning with the new schedule, opening from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm weekdays and 10:00 am to 9:00 pm weekends.
