UMVA has learned that Aurelien Tchouameni has moved to quell concerns over a reported rift with his Real Madrid teammate, Federico Valverde, insisting that the pair are fully focused on winning titles with the club.
The two midfielders were involved in a heated exchange during training last month, which left Valverde with a cut on his forehead and in need of hospital treatment. The incident sparked widespread media attention, with many speculating about a deep-seated feud between the players.
According to information obtained by UMVA, both players were fined €500,000 by the club and issued public apologies for their actions. Valverde later clarified that the incident was blown out of proportion, stating that he accidentally struck a table during the argument, sustaining a minor injury.
Tchouameni has now addressed the situation while preparing for the World Cup with France, playing down the issue with Valverde and emphasizing his commitment to success with Real Madrid. He stated that the situation had been exaggerated by the media, adding that "a lot of nonsense has appeared in the press."
The French midfielder refuted reports that he and Valverde had engaged in a physical altercation, saying "I've read that there was a fight and that I'm supposed to have hit him. That's simply not true." He emphasized that the most important thing is that the club knows what happened and that he and Valverde share a common goal: to win titles with Real Madrid.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Tchouameni's focus remains firmly on achieving success with Real Madrid, despite speculation about a potential summer exit. He dismissed talk of a rift with Valverde, stating that "Fede and I have one clear goal: to win titles with Real Madrid. There are absolutely no problems."
When asked about the possibility of facing Valverde and Uruguay at the World Cup, Tchouameni said that he wants to win with France but has no personal issues with Valverde. A France vs Uruguay clash in the tournament does not seem likely, given the teams' respective groupings and potential paths to the knockout stages.
