HOBBS' TACO DISASTER: Epic Fail or Political Suicide? (WATCH)

HOBBS' TACO DISASTER: Epic Fail or Political Suicide? (WATCH)

A peculiar challenge has emerged in Arizona’s political landscape, initiated by Governor Katie Hobbs. It’s a move that has raised eyebrows and sparked questions about the seriousness of her campaign.

The governor posted a video to social media featuring herself aggressively eating a taco. This wasn’t a casual enjoyment of a popular food; it was a demonstrative act, seemingly intended as a pointed response to comments made by a Republican challenger.

The catalyst was a recent interview with candidate Biggs, where he jokingly admitted a certain clumsiness when tackling tacos – a tendency for fillings to end up elsewhere. He laughed off the idea of performing the act on camera.

Hobbs’ response was swift and visually striking. After playing a clip of Biggs’ reluctance, she emphatically asked, “Who doesn’t like a taco?” before proceeding to devour the taco with unusual gusto.

Observers noted a detail that added another layer to the situation: the taco appeared to have been partially eaten before filming began. This suggested multiple attempts were made to capture the perfect, performative bite.

The incident arrives against a backdrop of controversy surrounding the 2022 election. Hobbs’ victory over Kari Lake was contested, with claims of significant issues during the vote count.

Specifically, reports indicated widespread malfunctions with voting machines in Maricopa County, the state’s most populous region. Sixty percent of machines reportedly failed on election day.

Adding to the scrutiny, Hobbs held the position of Secretary of State at the time, overseeing the election process. Her eventual declaration as the winner followed a prolonged period of ballot counting and review.

The taco challenge, therefore, feels less like a lighthearted moment and more like a distraction, occurring within a context of lingering doubts and unresolved questions about the integrity of past elections.
