Veteran Victor Marx Wins Narrow Victory in Colorado GOP Gubernatorial Primary

The Colorado Republican gubernatorial primary has come to a close, with Marine veteran Victor Marx emerging as the winner. Marx defeated state Sen. Barbara Kirkmeyer and state Rep. Scott Bottoms, according to the latest results. This comes after a closely contested race, with the outcome being called on Thursday.

In a post on X, Marx expressed his gratitude to the people of Colorado, stating, "THANK YOU, COLORADO. Because of you, your time, your door knocking, your phone calls, and your belief in something bigger than politics, we just won the Republican nomination for Governor."

Marx is a well-known figure, having led over 150 high-stakes missions across the world's most dangerous regions as the founder of All Things Possible Ministries. His organization delivers trauma relief, medical aid, and hope to victims of terrorism, trafficking, and violence.

Marx's personal story is also marked by tragedy, as he claims in his memoir that his stepfather made him shoot and kill someone when he was just 7 years old. This experience has had a lasting impact on his life and has shaped his views on the world.

State Sen. Barbara Kirkmeyer came close to winning the primary, but ultimately fell short. In a statement, she expressed her gratitude to voters, saying, "While we came up short in what appears to be the closest Republican gubernatorial primary in Colorado history, I'm grateful for every voter who placed their trust in us."

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser is the Democratic gubernatorial candidate and has already begun to speak out against Marx's nomination. Weiser stated, "From the little we know about Victor Marx, his views and style are far out of step with Coloradans, and his nomination for governor is a threat to our state's values and our future."

The state has not elected a Republican governor since 2002, and Marx's nomination has raised concerns about the direction of the state's politics. The general election will take place in the coming months, and Coloradans will have a chance to weigh in on Marx's candidacy.
