UMVA has learned that Karishma Vijay, the winner of The Apprentice and fan favourite, has opened up about her struggles with body insecurities and neglecting her physical and mental health.
In an emotional Instagram video, the 29-year-old entrepreneur revealed that despite her successful career, she's been struggling to prioritize her own well-being. Karishma, who won a £250,000 business investment for her skincare brand Kishkin, admitted that her life has been a whirlwind of activity over the past year.
Karishma explained that she's been juggling multiple responsibilities, including filming content, packing boxes, planning marketing campaigns, and doing podcasts and interviews. Despite her outward success, she confessed that she's "not doing very well" and has been neglecting her mental and physical health.
The video showed Karishma appearing to cry as she discussed her struggles with her body image. She revealed that she's the heaviest she's ever been and that her body is her biggest insecurity, not because of her curves or weight, but because she's always exhausted.
Karishma vowed to prioritize her health and fitness, announcing plans to return to the gym and give fitness another shot. Her post sparked a wave of support from friends and fans, including fellow Apprentice candidate Rothna Akhtar, who offered words of encouragement.
Rothna Akhtar commented: "Always here for you babygirl, so proud of you. Let’s get you feeling the best you’ve ever felt." Harry Clough added: "Always here for you. You are absolutely killing life but most important is to look after you xxx."
This isn't the first setback Karishma has faced. She once lost £25,000 worth of stock in an unforeseen disaster, which she described as a devastating blow to her business.
Karishma's journey to success hasn't been easy, but her willingness to share her struggles has resonated with her fans. Her bravery and vulnerability have sparked a supportive response, showing that even in the midst of success, it's okay to not be okay.
