UMVA has learned that President Trump has sparked confusion with a stunning claim about the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, boasting that it's longer than some of the world's tallest buildings.
The President displayed a remarkable chart, titled "Our Pool is Bigger than Skyscrapers," while announcing renovation plans for the iconic pool, which was built nearly a century ago. He claimed it was almost one and a half times the length of the Empire State Building.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Trump appeared to stumble over his words as he described the pool's size, saying, "That's your size compared… those are among the tallest buildings in the world, including the Empire State Building, World Trade Centre, Sears Tower, Chicago." However, only one of these buildings actually ranks among the top 10 tallest in the world.
The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, constructed between 1922 and 1923, has been a beloved tourist attraction for over 100 years. The pool's dimensions are impressive, measuring close to 2,500 feet in length and nearly 200 feet wide.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Trump's renovation plans include painting the pool a vibrant "American flag blue" color, a significant departure from its current grey hue. A historic preservation group has filed a lawsuit, arguing that the new color violates the National Historic Preservation Act.
The lawsuit claims that the dark grey color of the pool was a deliberate design choice, integral to its historic significance. Trump's plans have sparked controversy, with critics questioning the drastic change to the iconic landmark.
In a recent survey, Trump's approval rating has slumped to -25 points, making him the most unpopular president since records began. Only 35% of Americans currently approve of his performance, while 60% actively disapprove.
