UMVA has learned that Toronto Police are investigating a dramatic and explosive incident that unfolded in the early hours of Monday morning in north Etobicoke.
At approximately 12:55 a.m., a vehicle crashed into Phatboy Fireworks near Albion Road and Highway 27, triggering a massive four-alarm blaze. The inferno quickly engulfed the store, sending fireworks exploding into the night sky and creating a scene of chaos and danger.
Toronto Fire crews battled the intense flames and heavy smoke, with aerial units working tirelessly to contain the fire. The blaze spread to neighboring units in the commercial plaza, causing widespread damage and posing a significant risk to the surrounding area.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that there were injuries, though the extent of these injuries remains unclear. The vehicle involved in the crash was found abandoned, and police are actively searching for its occupant or occupants.
