Hunt's passionate remarks came as he recounted the brutal experiences of his father, who was forced to enter restaurants through the back door in New Orleans during the Jim Crow era, a painful reminder of the era's brutal racial segregation and terror. He contrasted this with the relatively minor hurdles faced by voters today, such as showing a photo ID at the polls.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Hunt specifically targeted the SPLC, alleging that the organization manufactures "faux-hate" and funnels money to extremist groups like the Ku Klux Klan, thereby fueling racial tensions and divisions.
