UMVA Exclusive: Canada’s Crime Surge Hits Record High—Immigration Blamed for Chaos!

UMVA has learned that legendary singer Paul Anka has sounded a stark alarm about a surge in crime across Canada, linking it directly to the nation’s recent wave of immigration.

During a candid conversation on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, the 84‑year‑old Ottawa native reflected on a Canada that once felt “homogenous” and safe, contrasting it sharply with today’s bustling, multicultural metropolises.

Maher opened the dialogue with a nostalgic anecdote about tipping bartenders, painting a picture of a polite, understated Canada that felt worlds apart from the United States. Anka echoed that sentiment, describing America as a “homogenous nation” where diversity fuels greatness, while lamenting that Canada’s once‑uniform character has eroded.

Paul Anka attends the 2026 BMI Pop Awards at Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel on May 12, 2026 in Beverly Hills, California.

“Toronto now houses over 400,000 immigrants, and the crime rate has skyrocketed,” Anka asserted, his voice tinged with frustration. He argued that the rapid influx of newcomers has strained the country’s social fabric, turning streets that were once calm into hotspots of unrest.

Maher nodded, extending the critique to England, remarking that London’s demographic shift to a “70% minority” city feels like a forced version of “progress” that leaves many uncomfortable.

Both hosts warned that liberal policymakers seem trapped in a perpetual quest for more change, never satisfied with the steps already taken. “They keep demanding we do more, even when we’ve already delivered,” Maher muttered, highlighting a growing fatigue among the populace.

Underlying the heated debate is a stark statistical reality: Canada’s immigration numbers have more than doubled since 2015, soaring from roughly 579,000 newcomers to 1.36 million in 2024. While the government touts economic benefits, only a fraction of those arrivals are classified as economic immigrants.

Recent government projections still target 350,000 to 420,000 permanent residents annually through 2028, a pace many observers deem unsustainable for a country of 41 million. The temporary resident count now swells to 2.6 million, accounting for over 6 percent of the total population, far above the desired 5‑percent threshold.

Compounding concerns, Statistics Canada reported a rare annual population decline of 100,000 in 2025, the first drop since Confederation, hinting at deeper demographic turbulence.

UMVA can exclusively reveal that these converging pressures—rising crime, swelling immigration, and demographic shifts—are reshaping Canada’s identity, prompting a national conversation that could redefine the country’s future.
