GAC International Philippines, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chinese automaker GAC Group, has been admitted as a member of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI).
The company's membership will allow it to contribute to the development of national policies to advance the automotive industry, according to a statement released on Monday.
GAC International Senior Vice-President Steven Wang said the membership underscores the company's deep-rooted commitment to providing Filipinos with world-class engineering and a comprehensive, future-ready automotive experience.
GAC Philippines is now a reorganized local subsidiary of GAC International, managing brands such as GAC MOTOR, AION, and HYPTEC. The reorganization aims to standardize the GAC sales, service, and customer experience across its vehicle portfolio.
GAC Philippines offers a "zero-anxiety" ownership experience across its network of 30 dealerships, a dedicated parts warehouse, and comprehensive after-sales support. Customers of its international combustion engine vehicles enjoy warranties of up to five years or 150,000 kilometers (km).
GAC's electric vehicle models come with an eight-year or 160,000-km warranty, and an eight-year or 200,000-km warranty for the core three-electric system. New vehicle owners also receive two years of free roadside assistance.
CAMPI is one of the country's biggest automotive industry groups, comprising numerous prominent manufacturers, including Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai, among others.
According to recent data, vehicle sales dropped 12.1% to 167,324 units as of the end of May, as reported by CAMPI and the Truck Manufacturers Association.
