U.S. Central Command released video showing strikes against Iranian military installations after a series of attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz during the week of July 6‑11, 2026.
The Saturday operation targeted approximately 140 Iranian sites, employing land‑ and sea‑based fighter aircraft, drones and naval vessels. Targets included missile and drone launch sites, naval assets, ammunition depots, communications networks and coastal surveillance stations.
Centcom stated that more than 300 Iranian targets were engaged throughout the week, aiming to diminish Tehran’s capacity to threaten civilian shipping in the strategic waterway.
U.S. forces have continued to escort commercial traffic, facilitating the safe passage of over 800 vessels and the transport of roughly 400 million barrels of crude oil since early May.
In a press release, the command confirmed a third round of strikes on July 11, describing them as a response to a renewed Iranian attack on a commercial ship in the strait.
The operation underscores ongoing U.S. efforts to protect maritime commerce and enforce freedom of navigation in the region.
