JUDGE SILENCED! Zameer Trial EXPLODES in Collusion Scandal!

JUDGE SILENCED! Zameer Trial EXPLODES in Collusion Scandal!

Two years after a jury found him not guilty, Umar Zameer is once again fighting to clear his name. A shadow of doubt has been cast over his acquittal in the death of Det.-Const. Jeffrey Northrup, ignited by a controversial report and fueled by pointed accusations from the Toronto Police and even the province’s Premier.

The storm began with the unveiling of an OPP report, championed by Police Chief Myron Demkiw, which seemingly “exonerated” the undercover officers who testified against Zameer. This report painted a drastically different picture than the one presented at trial, a picture that directly contradicted the findings of both the defense and prosecution’s own experts.

The core of the dispute centers on the moments in the City Hall parking garage on July 2, 2021. The OPP report claims Zameer’s car made “glancing contact” with Northrup as he reversed, knocking the officer into the path of the moving vehicle. But during the trial, no evidence supported the claim that Northrup was standing in front of the car.

Zameer testified he feared for his family’s safety, recalling that the plainclothes officers failed to identify themselves. His wife was eight months pregnant, and their toddler was crying in the backseat – a scene of vulnerability that heightened his sense of threat. The trial judge ultimately concluded the officers had colluded and lied under oath.

Now, the Toronto Police Association president is demanding an apology from the judge, not for questioning the officers’ integrity, but for apologizing to Zameer after his acquittal. This demand was shockingly echoed by Premier Doug Ford, a move Zameer’s lawyer, Nader Hassan, decried as a “chilling moment” for Canadian justice.

Hassan argues the Premier and Chief are attempting to undermine the very foundation of the legal system, a system that already cleared Zameer. He insists the only apology owed is from those now seeking to revisit a settled case. The Federation of Ontario Law Associations has condemned the Premier’s intervention as a blatant attempt to subvert justice.

The Chief Justice of the Superior Court has firmly stood by the original ruling, stating it is “inappropriate and unethical” for judges to bow to external pressure. The court reaffirmed its confidence in the jury’s decision, emphasizing the importance of public trust in impartial verdicts. Appeals were not filed, leaving the acquittal unchallenged.

Zameer’s lawyer dismisses the OPP report as a rehash of evidence already “examined in painstaking detail” during the trial. He points to the lack of physical evidence – no damage to the car, no signs of impact on Northrup – that would corroborate the officers’ account. Both trial experts agreed on this crucial point, a fact the OPP report conveniently ignores.

The call for transparency is growing louder. Zameer’s legal team is demanding the full OPP reconstruction report be released, along with all communication between the OPP and the Toronto Police. They are also pushing for a full public inquiry into what they describe as a “secretive” investigation.

Chief Demkiw insists the OPP investigation was not intended to retry Zameer, but to determine if the officers should face perjury charges. Yet, the full report remains unavailable, and representatives were absent during the press conference, raising serious questions about the promised “complete transparency.”
