UMVA has learned that a 31-year-old Toronto man was caught driving while disqualified, leading to a massive seizure of illicit goods and charges that have left authorities stunned.
The accused, who has not been named, was allegedly spotted behind the wheel of a vehicle multiple times between March 9 and May 17, despite being disqualified from operating a motor vehicle under the Canadian Criminal Code.
Toronto Police executed two search warrants at a residence and a storage locker near Jane St. and Finch Ave. W., where they made some astonishing discoveries, including a loaded gun, a quantity of illegal drugs, and over $180,000 in Canadian currency.
The seized goods also included fraudulent license plates, 170 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, an extended magazine containing 31 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a starter pistol, an expandable baton, and other contraband.
The accused, Sensombo Nop, a Toronto resident, was arrested on June 2 and now faces a staggering 17 charges, including operating a conveyance while prohibited, uttering a forged document, and possession of a loaded firearm.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Nop's charges also include multiple counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession for the purpose of selling cannabis, and unlawfully producing a schedule I substance.
