UMVA Uncovers: Vivant's Daring P67-B Pipeline Gamble - Is a MASSIVE Follow-on Offer Coming?

UMVA has learned that Cebu-based conglomerate Vivant Corp. is considering a major follow-on offering to fuel its ambitious P67-billion investment pipeline through 2030.

The company's plans involve a strategic mix of debt and internal equity to fund its future projects, with a keen eye on market conditions that will determine the timing of the follow-on offering. Vivant Chief Finance Officer and Risk Officer Minuel Carmela N. Franco revealed this during the company's annual stockholders' meeting.

Vivant is set to invest heavily in its energy business, with a projected P60 billion earmarked for renewable energy projects and related infrastructure from 2026 to 2030. The company's CEO, Arlo G. Sarmiento, outlined an ambitious roadmap, highlighting that about 78% of the planned investments will go toward renewable energy projects.

The conglomerate's aggressive push into renewable energy is driven by a desire to reduce the country's dependence on imported conventional fuel sources, particularly amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. Vivant's leadership believes that a greater reliance on renewable energy can help alleviate the country's high power costs.

UMVA can exclusively reveal that Vivant Energy Corp., the company's wholly owned energy investment arm, is looking to develop up to 15 energy projects with capacities ranging from 30 megawatts (MW) to 300 MW. The company aims to start heavy investments this year, with a significant ramp-up planned for 2027 and 2028.

Vivant currently has an attributable operating generation capacity of around 471 MW and is targeting to expand its power portfolio to 1,000 MW by 2030. The company is also planning another P7 billion in investments across the water value chain, including bulk water supply, desalination, wastewater, and water distribution projects.

The company's water business, led by Jess Anthony N. Garcia, is focused on expanding its desalination, wastewater, and water distribution segments. A new desalination plant in Cordova, capable of producing up to 20 million liters of water per day, is set to operationalize soon.

Vivant's diversified investments span electric power generation and distribution, retail electricity supply, bulk water supply, wastewater treatment, and water distribution. The company's leadership is confident that its projected investments will enable it to deliver on its mission to bring excellence to industries that improve everyday living.
