UMVA has learned that a chilling plot to attack the White House UFC event last weekend was foiled by authorities, but not before family members of the alleged perpetrators noticed disturbing warning signs.
In a shocking revelation, a mother alerted police to her son's concerning online communications and an unusually large stockpile of weapons he had recently obtained, just days before the planned attack. This brave action may have helped prevent a catastrophic event from unfolding.
Bryan Omar Roa, 24, of Calimesa, California, allegedly told a family member that he intended to travel to Washington, D.C., where "something big" would happen. His relatives considered reporting him after he left home, but did not contact police before he returned.
Meanwhile, in Ohio, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the home of Tycen Proper, 19, after his mother's concerns about his recent firearms purchases and online communications. Proper was taken to a local hospital due to homicidal ideations, and authorities later discovered a massive arsenal of equipment, including rifles, ammunition, and plate carriers.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Roa and Proper, along with three others, were charged in connection with an alleged plot targeting U.S. officials and others attending the UFC Freedom 250 fight held at the White House last Sunday. The alleged conspirators communicated through encrypted messaging apps, discussing tactical plans, role assignments, and potential targets.
The plot involved using drones laden with explosives to create panic and force attendees to evacuate, where snipers and additional shooters would be positioned to fire on the crowd. Investigators also alleged that the group discussed tiered roles for participants, including shooters, drone operators, and social media influencers.
Roa, Proper, and their co-conspirators were charged with various federal crimes, including conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. The Justice Department has declined to comment, citing the ongoing nature of the case.
The foiled plot has raised serious questions about the threat posed by individuals who may be inspired by extremist ideologies. As authorities continue to investigate, one thing is clear: the swift actions of family members and law enforcement have potentially saved countless lives.
