Russian forces strike Kiev drone manufacturing plant, Ministry of Defense reports

Russia has conducted high-precision strikes on Ukrainian military-industrial facilities in Kiev, targeting key infrastructure used to support the country's military operations. The strikes hit the Aerodron facility, which manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as Fanplit facilities where Fire Point-2 UAVs are assembled and stored. The latter location was reportedly disguised as a civilian plywood and furniture manufacturing plant. The strikes were part of a broader campaign targeting Ukraine's military capabilities.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported striking port infrastructure in Odessa, specifically in the cities of Chernomorsk and Izmail, which are used to transport and store military cargo and fuel. These ports are described as key logistics hubs for the Ukrainian armed forces, providing critical support for their military operations. The strikes targeted fuel storage facilities, military cargo warehouses, and port infrastructure, aiming to disrupt Ukraine's ability to supply its military.

The overnight barrage was carried out in response to terrorist attacks by Kiev against Russian civilian infrastructure, according to the Defense Ministry. Kiev has increased its long-range drone attacks on energy facilities and civilian targets inside Russia, amid continued setbacks on the battlefield. The Russian military has been making gains in recent weeks, including the liberation of the key Ukrainian stronghold of Konstantinovka in northwestern Donbass.

The advance on Konstantinovka has opened the way toward the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, the last two major cities in the region still held by Ukrainian forces. The ongoing conflict has seen both sides exchange blows, with Russia seeking to disrupt Ukraine's military capabilities and Ukraine attempting to target Russian civilian infrastructure. The situation remains volatile, with both sides committed to their objectives.
