The Philippines women's national team has a clear route toward the knockout rounds of the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. The group draw placed them in Group G alongside China, Uzbekistan, and Hong Kong.
China, a former champion and 2022 bronze medalist, is the group’s favorite. The other two opponents have previously been beaten by the Filipinas.
In March, the Philippines defeated Uzbekistan 2‑0 at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, securing a second straight World Cup appearance. A 1‑0 win over Hong Kong in the 2025 qualifiers completed a clean sweep of Group G.
Although China is expected to top the bracket, the Philippines remain in contention for the second knockout berth available in the group.
Group E features host Japan with Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and Thailand. Group F is led by South Korea, joined by North Korea, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.
The Philippine under‑23 men's team will compete in Group C against Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and Kuwait as part of their Asian Games return.
Football competitions run from September 14 to October 2.
