A 32-year-old man from Uxbridge is facing serious allegations following an investigation into a sexual assault reported to the Ontario Provincial Police earlier this year.
The investigation, launched in February, centers around an incident involving a young person that occurred in 2023. Authorities have charged the man with sexual assault, sexual interference, and inviting sexual touching of someone under the age of sixteen.
At the time of the alleged offenses, the accused was employed by Teen Ranch and also worked as an ice-skating instructor. This has prompted investigators to believe there may be other potential victims.
Police are urging parents and guardians to speak openly with their children about any possible instances of misconduct they may have experienced through these roles. The accused is no longer with Teen Ranch, who have fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
Authorities emphasize that there is no time limit for reporting sexual offenses, regardless of when they occurred. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
In a separate case, two Toronto men are facing a combined total of 56 charges related to a string of vehicle thefts at GO stations across the city. The arrests followed an attempted theft in Scarborough last month.
Police intervened as two of the accused allegedly attempted to unlawfully enter and steal a vehicle at the Eglinton GO Station, utilizing a key programming device. A third suspect was apprehended shortly after.
Investigators quickly linked the trio to additional thefts at the Guildwood and Rouge Hill GO station parking lots. Raju Saydur, 43, and Nafees Hasan, 27, each face 28 counts of motor vehicle theft, alongside charges related to break-in tools and VIN tampering.
Sazzad Ali, 46, has been charged with a single count of each of the offenses. The investigation continues, and police are seeking any further information from the public.
A dispute over a parking ticket escalated into property damage earlier this week in downtown Toronto. A 44-year-old man now faces charges after allegedly damaging a parking enforcement officer’s vehicle.
The incident occurred on Wellington Street West near Yonge Street. After receiving a parking violation, the man reportedly became verbally aggressive and used profanity towards the officer.
He then allegedly struck the officer’s vehicle, causing damage to the hood, before leaving the scene. Fortunately, the officer did not sustain any injuries. Ahmad Noori has been arrested and charged with mischief.
