A quiet evening in Scarborough was shattered this week when police executed a search warrant, uncovering a handgun and narcotics. The raid, conducted by the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force, led to the arrest of three Toronto men – Elvis Cadoo, 29, Karim Cadoo, 30, and Aiden Cadoo, 22.
Investigators seized a 9mm handgun loaded with eleven rounds, alongside a quantity of oxycodone. Each of the Cadoo men now faces a series of serious charges, including firearm possession and drug offenses. The youngest, Aiden Cadoo, faces additional accusations related to probation violations and a prohibition order.
Meanwhile, York Regional Police are investigating a string of brazen bank robberies across the Greater Toronto Area. A 26-year-old Toronto man, Muhammad Adbullah Anwar, has been charged in connection with four separate incidents.
The suspect allegedly attempted a robbery in Markham, fleeing empty-handed before successfully targeting banks in Toronto and Mississauga. Anwar was already under release orders for unrelated offenses when the robberies occurred, raising questions about the effectiveness of current bail conditions.
In a separate incident, a youth walking along a forested pathway in Vaughan was assaulted by an unknown male. The incident, which occurred Wednesday evening, left the young person shaken but thankfully unharmed. Police are seeking a man described as being between 30 and 40 years old, last seen wearing a dark blue shirt, grey and blue jacket, and a black medical mask.
Oakville residents are on edge following a daring robbery at Brother Deals on Wheels. Two armed suspects confronted employees, demanding valuables and fleeing with jewelry and cellphones in a stolen black Acura RDX. One suspect wielded a handgun, while the other brandished a machete, yet remarkably, no one was physically injured.
Police describe the first suspect as a Black male of medium to heavy build, wearing dark clothing and carrying a small black satchel. The second suspect is described as having a slender to medium build, also clad in dark clothing and wielding a machete. Investigators are appealing for any security or dashcam footage from the area.
These incidents, unfolding across the GTA, paint a troubling picture of escalating criminal activity. From firearms and drug offenses to armed robberies and assaults, authorities are working diligently to bring those responsible to justice and restore a sense of security to the community.
