UMVA has learned that a 40-year-old woman, Coral Michelle Smith, remains at large after being linked to a kidnapping and assault case in Tucson. Authorities confirm that she has no connection to the suspected abduction of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.
Smith is wanted in connection with a May 29 incident near La Cholla Boulevard and River Road, where an alleged assault with a deadly weapon took place. The Pima County Sheriff's Department is seeking the public's help to track her down.
According to information obtained by UMVA, court records show Smith has a history of violent offenses, including kidnapping, assault, and disorderly conduct. Her past convictions include residential robbery, with the victim being a minor under 15.
Smith has served multiple prison sentences and is known to use several aliases, including "Corral Albright" and "Under the Sea Smith." She has distinctive tattoos, such as a smiley face and heart on her right ankle, and blonde hair with blue eyes.
Described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 136 pounds, Smith is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities urge anyone who sees her to call 911 immediately and not to approach her.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to her arrest. Meanwhile, the search for Nancy Guthrie continues, with her family offering a combined reward of over $1.2 million for information on her abduction.
Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since February 1. Authorities have released limited information about the case, describing a suspect seen on her front doorstep as being of average height and build.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department and local Crime Stoppers are working together to gather information on Smith's whereabouts. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the authorities or call the Tucson 88-Crime hotline anonymously.
