Chelsea's INSANE Bid to STEAL United's Star!

Chelsea's INSANE Bid to STEAL United's Star!

Before Benjamin Sesko became a Manchester United star, Chelsea reportedly pursued him with an astonishing offer. Three years ago, the Blues were prepared to grant the young Slovenian striker “whatever he wanted” to secure his signature, a testament to the immense potential they saw.

Sesko had just exploded onto the scene with Red Bull Salzburg, netting 18 goals in his debut season and immediately attracting attention from top Premier League clubs. Manchester United also entered the fray, holding discussions with his representatives, but Chelsea’s all-out approach was particularly aggressive.

At the time, Christopher Vivell, now a former Chelsea transfer guru, was at Stamford Bridge and keenly admired Sesko, having previously scouted him within the Red Bull system. This existing knowledge fueled Chelsea’s fervent desire to bring the promising forward to West London.

However, Sesko and his agent ultimately decided the timing wasn’t right for a move to the Premier League. They opted for a stepping-stone approach, joining RB Leipzig, Salzburg’s sister club, to continue his development in a familiar environment.

Over the next two seasons at Leipzig, Sesko flourished, adding another 39 goals to his tally and proving his initial promise wasn’t a fluke. Manchester United remained steadfast in their interest, finally securing his £74 million transfer last summer.

Sesko’s early days at Old Trafford were met with some skepticism, as he struggled to find the back of the net, scoring only twice before Christmas. Pundits questioned the hefty price tag and whether he could adapt to the Premier League’s intensity.

A turning point arrived with the appointment of Michael Carrick as caretaker manager. Suddenly, Sesko began to thrive, finding a consistent scoring touch and becoming a vital component of United’s attack, netting eight goals since Carrick took the helm.

Crucial, injury-time winners against Fulham and West Ham showcased his growing confidence and composure. More recently, decisive goals against Everton and Crystal Palace further cemented his importance to the team.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has been particularly impressed by Sesko’s transformation under Carrick. He lauded a recent headed goal as “an absolute beauty,” highlighting the striker’s newfound confidence and clinical finishing.

Neville believes Carrick is unlocking Sesko’s potential, turning him into a “game-changing” signing for United. He emphasized the club’s desperate need for a successful center-forward and the positive impact Sesko is having.

Carrick’s influence extends beyond Sesko’s goals. Neville suggests that a flourishing Sesko allows United to focus their summer transfer efforts on strengthening other areas of the squad, such as midfield and defense, rather than desperately searching for another striker.

The impact of Carrick’s leadership is undeniable. He’s revitalized players previously written off, dramatically increasing the overall value of the United squad and offering a glimmer of hope for the future.
