Former South Dakota Governor and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has filed for divorce from her husband of more than thirty years after revelations about his secret cross‑dressing and involvement in fetish communities.
In an interview with her mother, Corinne Arnold, she discussed the difficult decision and said they had known the divorce was coming.
Arnold recalled seeing the couple together at a family gathering in late spring, shortly after the allegations surfaced.
The mother described a family celebration where both Kristi and Bryon were present, noting Bryon’s affectionate behavior with children.
Arnold also mentioned confronting her daughter about the future of the marriage, to which the daughter confirmed that a divorce was imminent.
The divorce follows the discovery of hundreds of messages and photos showing Bryon dressed in female attire and engaging with individuals in a fetish scene, along with substantial financial transactions.
Kristi Noem was reported to be devastated by the revelations, and her representatives requested privacy and prayers for the family.
The couple had been married for over thirty years, and Kristi has not issued a personal statement regarding the filing.
