Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, Katia Aveiro, confirmed that the upcoming World Cup match will be his final appearance for Portugal.
Aveiro told Portuguese media that the round‑of‑32 clash against Croatia represents the “last dance” for both nations’ veteran players, urging fans to cherish the moment.
She highlighted Ronaldo’s two‑decade international career, noting his contributions and the team’s progress over more than 20 years.
Ronaldo, who has scored three goals in the tournament, expressed pride in representing his country and confidence that the squad will finish strongly.
When asked about the possibility of playing in Euro 2028, Aveiro indicated that available information points to this being his farewell, emphasizing that the decision is imminent.
She added that finding a player of his caliber will be difficult and that his legacy will endure beyond his retirement.
Aveiro reflected on the family’s journey, the challenges overcome, and the achievements that have brought them to this point, asserting that criticism will not diminish their happiness.
