UMVA has learned that a recent poll has exposed a stark divide in American patriotism, with Democrats and Republicans holding vastly different views on national pride.
The poll, which has sparked heated debate, reveals that Democrats are increasingly disenchanted with their country, with only 36% expressing extreme or very high levels of pride - a drastic drop from 62% just a year ago. This marks only the second time in recent history that Democrats' pride has fallen below the majority level.
In stark contrast, Republicans have consistently demonstrated high levels of national pride, with 92% expressing extreme or very high levels of pride - a figure that has remained steady over the years, with only a few exceptions. This has led to a significant gap between the two parties, with Republicans overwhelmingly proud to be American, while Democrats seem to be losing their affection for their country.
Scott Jennings, a prominent commentator, has pointed out that loving one's country shouldn't be conditional on winning or losing elections. He cited Robert DeNiro's recent comments, where the actor accused a certain politician of being a "racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant" and claimed he didn't love America because of it. Jennings argued that such sentiment is indicative of a larger problem within the Democratic Party.
Jennings also highlighted a striking disparity in national pride across age groups, with 75% of Americans over 65 expressing high levels of pride, compared to just 36% of those aged 18-34. This has led some to suggest that the American left is losing its affection for the country.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Jennings has been vocal about this issue on his podcast, stating that the Democratic Party's lack of patriotism is a serious concern. He emphasized that loving America shouldn't be contingent on electoral outcomes, and that the party's stance is becoming increasingly divisive.
The data paints a stark picture: 25 years ago, Republicans and Democrats had similar levels of national pride, with 90% and 87% respectively expressing high levels of pride. Today, Republicans remain overwhelmingly proud (92%), while Democrats have plummeted to 36%. This raises questions about the future of American patriotism and the growing divide between the two parties.
