Iranian Clerics Issue Threats Against Trump and Netanyahu Amid Reports of US Military Escalation in the Region

The fragile agreement between the United States and Iran, forged last month, is in peril as both sides consider restarting the conflict.

A 10-point statement issued by Iran's 88-member 'Assembly of Experts' calls for the death of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Trump, citing a religious duty to avenge the death of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The group, comprising Iran's most senior clerics and tasked with choosing and supervising the supreme leader, made it clear that this was a duty to be carried out 'under any circumstances.'

Former President Trump stands behind Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is signing a document at a table in the Oval Office, surrounded by military flags.

The clerics claim that the cease-fire negotiations are just a tactic to buy America time for future attacks, warning that the likelihood of a renewed attack after the 30-day and 60-day deadlines will be very high.

The clerics also urged Iranian regime supporters to storm the streets in Khamenei's name, as President Trump is reportedly considering 'finishing the job' in Iran and wiping out the regime for good.

The president has held discussions with top military officials regarding restarting full-scale strikes in recent days, but is currently holding off, believing that such attacks would destroy diplomatic efforts and cripple the chance of eliminating Iran's nuclear program.

According to U.S. officials, Trump has weighed a return to all-out war with Iran, holding multiple conversations in recent days with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine on more strikes.

While not making a final decision, Trump believes another round of full-scale attacks could derail diplomacy and hurt Washington's chances of ultimately dismantling Iran's nuclear program.

The president has told aides he is fine if negotiations with Tehran blow past an Aug. 18 deadline for a nuclear deal, giving the talks more time to work, and is currently satisfied with ordering one-off strikes on Iran when it violates the 'memorandum of understanding.'
