Kylie Jenner is facing her third workplace lawsuit, with a former private chef claiming the demanding nature of her job contributed to her suffering a miscarriage.
The complaint, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, alleges the chef was required to carry out strenuous work while pregnant despite informing supervisors she needed reasonable accommodations.
Jenner, 28, and business management firm Tri Star have both been named as defendants in the lawsuit.
The former employee claims she was hired to work for the reality star in November 2024 and informed her supervisors she was around three months pregnant by the following month, requesting workplace adjustments to protect her health.
However, the lawsuit alleges she was expected to continue carrying out physically demanding tasks, including lifting and transporting heavy food items across the street and uphill without assistance.
According to the complaint, the chef became dizzy, began choking, and gasped for air while working a New Year's Eve event and required help from security staff who gave her water and came to her aid.
The lawsuit also alleges the chef was not given adequate support while catering a birthday party for one of Jenner's children in Palm Springs in early February 2025, leading to extreme physical exhaustion and heaviness throughout her body.
The former employee experienced hemorrhaging the following morning and was taken to hospital, where she was allegedly told she had lost her unborn baby.
The defendant's lawyer stated, "Celebrity status does not exempt anyone from California's employment laws." The lawyer also emphasized that their client deserves the same protections afforded to every employee in California, regardless of wealth, influence, or public profile.
This is not the first legal challenge Jenner has faced this year, as two former housekeepers filed separate complaints against the beauty mogul in April, alleging a "toxic and abusive environment" and racial discrimination, harassment, unpaid wages, and failing to prevent discrimination and harassment, among other allegations.
