Novak Djokovic was defeated in his second consecutive Wimbledon final, falling to defending champion Jannik Sinner in straight sets.
Sinner raised his level to a dominant performance, securing a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory in under two and a half hours.
The 39‑year‑old Serbian has consistently reached the latter stages of Grand Slam tournaments but has not captured a title since the 2023 US Open.
Despite the loss, Djokovic expressed a desire to return to Wimbledon next year, though he remains uncertain about his long‑term plans beyond that.
He described the defeat as a “good old blowout,” noting he was a step behind on every shot and lacked the sharpness, reactivity, and balance needed to compete at Sinner’s level.
Djokovic added that Sinner was simply a level or more superior, and that there was little he could have done on the court to change the outcome.
