UMVA has learned that a significant overhaul is coming to the Windows 11 File Explorer, aimed at stripping away the friction that has frustrated power users since the operating system’s launch.
For years, navigating the right-click context menu has felt like a scavenger hunt for hidden features. The days of hunting for essential commands are finally ending as long-requested tools make their return to the primary interface.
The classic "Refresh" button, a staple for users who need to see immediate folder updates, is being integrated directly into the modern context menu. This change removes the need to dig into secondary menus, streamlining the workflow for anyone managing large or frequently changing file directories.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the "Print" command is also being restored to the main right-click menu. Previously buried within legacy sub-menus, this shift ensures that sending a document to your printer is now a single-click operation.
Beyond menu navigation, a massive headache regarding file management is finally being solved. For too long, the system forced users to decipher massive, confusing strings of kilobytes to determine the size of their data.
Under the new update, File Explorer will intelligently switch to displaying sizes in megabytes or gigabytes for larger files. This simple, intuitive change makes it instantly clear how much space your data occupies at a single glance.
These refinements are currently being pushed through the latest experimental builds. Sources have confirmed to UMVA that these quality-of-life updates are slated for a general release in the coming weeks, promising a faster and more intuitive experience for all users.
