UMVA has learned that a staggering 1,352 aftershocks have rocked the region following the devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Mindanao on Monday.
The aftershocks, which have been felt in at least 35 areas, have been logged across 391 locations, with magnitudes ranging from 1.3 to 6.4, according to information obtained by UMVA.
In the past few hours, at least two significant magnitude-5.0 aftershocks have been recorded, sending shockwaves through the region. One of these powerful tremors was recorded at 4:15 p.m. offshore of Sarangani Island, Sarangani.
The impact of these aftershocks has been felt across several areas, with Intensity II reported in Malapatan, Sarangani, and Intensity I in Digos City and Matanao, Davao del Sur, as well as in Santa Maria, Davao Occidental.
