President Trump announced a televised address scheduled for Thursday evening, promising to disclose “really, really big news” related to the nation’s elections.
The president indicated that the speech will also cover the escalating conflict with Iran, including recent U.S. strikes and the reinstated naval blockade, as well as additional topics.
He confirmed that newly declassified intelligence concerning foreign interference in the 2020 election will be a central focus of the remarks.
Senior officials expected to appear alongside the president include the CIA director, the acting director of national intelligence, the Department of Homeland Security chief, and the FBI director.
A White House task force is slated to release classified documents tied to the 2020 election, following an earlier FBI raid on a Georgia election office.
