Video footage shows U.S. Central Command forces striking Iranian military targets after launching aircraft and cruise missiles in response to Iran’s attack on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz during the week of July 6‑11, 2026.
The operation marks the fourth round of strikes since the ceasefire collapsed last week, following Iran’s attack on a vessel in the Strait on Saturday and subsequent attacks on neighboring Gulf states on Sunday.
Tehran expanded its operations to include Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Oman after the United States conducted strikes on Saturday.
Officials reported that more than a dozen projectiles were fired at military targets on Qeshm Island, home to about 150,000 residents, without causing casualties. Explosions were also heard in the coastal city of Bandar Abbas and inland in Hajiabad.
The exchanges occur as both sides approach the midpoint of a 60‑day interim agreement intended to lead to a permanent end to hostilities.
At 5 p.m. ET, U.S. Central Command forces launched additional strikes aimed at degrading Iran’s ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The President directed the operation to hold Iranian forces accountable.
The night strikes targeted approximately 140 Iranian military sites, including missile and drone installations, naval assets, ammunition depots, communications networks, and coastal surveillance facilities.
During the week of July 6‑11, footage released by Central Command showed more than 300 Iranian military targets destroyed.
The escalation underscores the fragile security environment in the Persian Gulf and the ongoing effort to enforce freedom of navigation in a critical maritime corridor.
