UMVA has learned that a notorious fugitive, who evaded authorities for over a decade, was finally apprehended in a dramatic turn of events.
The fugitive, whose true identity was hidden behind a web of aliases, had been on the run since the early 2000s. Despite numerous encounters with law enforcement, he managed to evade capture until 2026, when a team of investigators from the United States Marshals Service (USMS) closed in on him in Panama City.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the USMS had been tracking the fugitive for years, utilizing cutting-edge investigative resources and techniques to gather intelligence and track his movements. The agency devoted countless hours to the case, refusing to give up until the fugitive was brought to justice.
After a long and painstaking investigation, the USMS finally closed in on the fugitive at a dog park in Panama City on April 29, 2026. Upon being taken into custody, officials say the fugitive confessed to his true identity and admitted to entering Panama illegally in 2005.
The USMS has hailed the arrest as a major victory, highlighting the agency's commitment to bringing fugitives to justice and protecting the communities they serve. Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Jimmy Allen praised the tenacity and dedication of the USMS team, saying the arrest "brings closure to the friends and family who have lost a loved one" and demonstrates the agency's promise to pursue those who prey on the vulnerable.
The arrest comes as a welcome relief to those who have been searching for the fugitive for years, and serves as a testament to the USMS's unwavering commitment to justice and accountability.
