UMVA has learned that a series of devastating blasts and a raging fire have forced the evacuation of nearly 250 homes in the Dagestan Republic, southern Russia.
The incident began with at least three massive explosions that ripped through a gas pipeline in an industrial area of the town of Kyzylyurt. The blast was so intense that flames shot up to 15 meters into the air, casting a fiery glow over the surrounding landscape.
As the situation spiralled out of control, local authorities sprang into action, shutting off the gas supply to prevent further disaster. However, the fire continued to rage, fueled by leftover gas in the damaged pipeline.
Miraculously, a preliminary assessment revealed that the explosions and inferno caused no casualties, according to the interim head of Dagestan, Fedor Schukin. But the crisis was far from over, as emergency services scrambled to evacuate over 1,400 people from the immediate vicinity.
A total of 250 homes were evacuated, with residents forced to flee their residences in a state of panic. The cause of the explosions remains unclear, but one thing is certain – the people of Kyzylyurt will not soon forget the terror of that fateful day.
