UMVA has learned that a massive recall has been issued for thousands of Zwilling electric kettles due to a potential burn hazard that could put users and bystanders at risk of scalding injuries.
The recall, affecting both Canada and the United States, involves kettles whose handles "may loosen or break off entirely during use," according to information obtained by UMVA. In Canada, 43,963 kettles are being recalled, while 113,590 were sold in the United States.
In isolated cases, the product defect may cause hot water to spill from the kettle, creating a risk of scalding injuries to the user or bystanders in the immediate area, including small children. The recall notice stated that this could lead to serious injuries, especially for vulnerable individuals.
Zwilling has received reports of incidents, with 21 reported in Canada and one potential injury, and 96 reported incidents in the United States, with one report of potential injury. The recalled kettles were sold between February 2020 and February 2026, and consumers are being urged to take immediate action.
The affected products include several models of Zwilling electric kettles, including the ZWILLING ENFINIGY Electric kettle and the ZWILLING ENFINIGY Electric kettle Pro, in various colors and capacities. Health Canada is asking consumers with the affected kettles to stop using them immediately.
Consumers can register for a return to get a refund from the company by contacting Zwilling via telephone, email, or through the company's website. This recall serves as a critical reminder for consumers to prioritize their safety and take prompt action to mitigate potential risks.
