Total sales from sellers in the Visayas and Mindanao (VisMin) regions have increased by 24% between 2023 and 2025, according to recent data.
The rapid growth is attributed to Shopee's efforts to support regional businesses, allowing them to tap into a national market and expand their reach.
Shopee Philippines Head Vincent Lee notes that while Metro Manila is the primary economic center, the VisMin regions are home to various entrepreneurial communities.
Through the platform, regional entrepreneurs can access 81 out of 82 provinces nationwide, providing them with a wider customer base.
The growth of VisMin businesses has been significant, with average orders increasing by 51% in 2025, compared to the previous year.
Notably, the Motors category saw a 78% surge in orders, while the Babies & Kids section experienced a remarkable 186% increase.
Shopee's digital tools have played a crucial role in the business growth of VisMin sellers, with Shopee Video sellers multiplying 17 times and sales revenue increasing by 209% from 2024 to 2025.
Other initiatives, such as Shopee Live on Wheels, a mobile roadshow and shopping event, aim to push MSME growth in the VisMin region.
Shopee's expansion beyond Luzon is expected to create approximately 1,500 job opportunities across platform operations and seller enablement roles this year.
As regional businesses continue to thrive, Shopee is committed to providing the necessary tools and capabilities for MSMEs to enter e-commerce, compete, and scale.
