BLOODBORNE FILM CONFIRMED: FromSoftware Just BROKE the Internet!

BLOODBORNE FILM CONFIRMED: FromSoftware Just BROKE the Internet!

For PC gamers, a singular obsession burns – a yearning for a gothic masterpiece long denied. It’s a desire some might call…intense. That game is Bloodborne, a darkly beautiful action RPG that has remained stubbornly exclusive to PlayStation for over a decade.

The game’s haunting Victorian world and brutal combat have fueled a dedicated community, driving countless hours of effort into emulation. Players relentlessly refine programs, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible to experience Bloodborne on PC, a testament to its enduring appeal.

Now, a new path to experiencing Yharnam emerges: a feature film. While PC players have access to FromSoftware’s other acclaimed titles like Elden Ring and Sekiro, Bloodborne’s story will first unfold on the big screen, a bittersweet victory for its devoted fanbase.

Sony Pictures announced the project yesterday – an R-rated animated adaptation of Bloodborne. Details remain shrouded in mystery, leaving fans to speculate about the film’s visual style. Will it embrace the photorealistic potential of CG animation, or lean into the dynamic energy of anime, reminiscent of series like Castlevania?

Adding an intriguing layer to the production is the involvement of JackSepticEye, a popular gaming personality with a growing filmography. His experience producing short films and appearing in the indie horror hit *Iron Lung* suggests a genuine passion for the source material.

The reasons behind Bloodborne’s PlayStation exclusivity are complex, rooted in the original publishing agreement. Developed by FromSoftware but owned by Sony, the decision to port or remaster rests solely with the latter.

Recent reports indicate Sony is reassessing its PC gaming strategy, potentially prioritizing PlayStation-exclusive development. This shift casts a long shadow over the possibility of an official PC release for Bloodborne, leaving emulation as the primary avenue for PC players.

Even a sequel or remaster appears unlikely. Reports suggest FromSoftware’s president, Hidetaka Miyazaki, hasn’t given the green light, and Sony is hesitant to proceed without his approval. For now, the only official way for PC players to experience Bloodborne is through streaming, albeit at a limited 30 frames per second.
