ICE ESCAPE: Senator's Lies EXPOSED in Deadly Crash!

ICE ESCAPE: Senator's Lies EXPOSED in Deadly Crash!

A starkly different narrative is emerging from the Department of Homeland Security regarding an incident in Baltimore involving a man identified as Ever Omar Alvarenga-Rios. Initial reports, fueled by Senator Chris Van Hollen, characterized the event as an assault on an “asylum seeker,” but DHS paints a picture of a deliberate evasion of law enforcement and a dangerous chain of events.

According to DHS, Alvarenga-Rios is a Honduran national with a final order of removal dating back to 2018 – meaning he had previously been deemed ineligible to remain in the country. On Thursday, ICE officers attempted to execute that order in Baltimore, but Alvarenga-Rios allegedly chose to flee, initiating a high-risk situation.

The attempt to evade arrest quickly escalated. DHS asserts that Alvarenga-Rios drove recklessly through city streets after officers initiated a traffic stop, disregarding the safety of others. The situation culminated in a multi-vehicle collision when he abruptly slammed on his brakes.

Undeterred, Alvarenga-Rios then attempted to escape on foot, ignoring repeated commands from law enforcement. ICE officers, adhering to their training, utilized what they describe as the minimum necessary force to effect the arrest. The ensuing struggle resulted in injuries to two ICE officers, both requiring hospitalization.

“This illegal alien broke our laws, resisted arrest, sent two ICE law enforcement officers to the hospital, and endangered the general public,” stated Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. Fortunately, both injured officers are expected to fully recover, but the incident highlights the inherent risks faced by those enforcing immigration laws.

The DHS response also included a pointed critique of “sanctuary politicians,” alleging that their encouragement of individuals to avoid apprehension contributes to such dangerous scenarios. They claim webinars have been hosted, instructing individuals on how to evade law enforcement, fostering a climate of resistance.

Senator Van Hollen presented a contrasting account, sharing images of the man in a hospital bed and describing him as an “asylum seeker” injured when his vehicle was rear-ended by an ICE vehicle while en route to work. He further stated the man sustained significant injuries and was being denied access to legal counsel.

The discrepancies between the two accounts are significant. While Senator Van Hollen focuses on the man’s alleged status as an asylum seeker and the severity of his injuries, DHS emphasizes his prior deportation order, the alleged reckless driving, and the injuries sustained by ICE officers during the arrest attempt.

The case raises complex questions about immigration enforcement, the rights of individuals facing deportation, and the responsibilities of both law enforcement and elected officials. The conflicting narratives underscore the highly charged atmosphere surrounding immigration policy and the challenges of accurately portraying events in such a sensitive context.
