Two years have passed since David Robson vanished, leaving a family desperate for answers. The 65-year-old was last seen in Melancthon Township, and now, Ontario Provincial Police are intensifying their search with a striking new tactic – a billboard plea for the public’s help.
The billboard, erected west of Orangeville at a busy intersection, displays Robson’s face and a photograph of his missing vehicle: a black 2017 Kia Sportage SUV. Investigators hope the image will trigger a memory, a fleeting recollection from someone who may have crossed paths with Robson or noticed his car.
Robson’s body was discovered on April 1st, just a few kilometers from Brampton, a grim confirmation of the family’s worst fears. A post-mortem examination swiftly determined his death was a homicide, launching a complex investigation led by the Dufferin OPP and the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch.
Despite the homicide ruling, police initially stated they didn’t believe the public was at risk, suggesting the crime wasn’t random. This detail hints at a more targeted act, a chilling implication that someone knew David Robson and what happened to him.
The missing Kia Sportage remains a crucial piece of the puzzle, bearing the Ontario license plate DAMZ 252. Its disappearance alongside Robson suggests it holds vital clues to the events surrounding his death, a silent witness to a tragic crime.
Detectives are urging anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. They believe someone, somewhere, holds a piece of the truth, a detail that could finally bring closure to Robson’s loved ones and deliver justice for his untimely death.
Those with information are encouraged to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
