The disappearance of Yosvani González sent a ripple of concern through law enforcement. After a brief period of contact, he vanished, becoming completely unreachable and triggering an immediate, large-scale investigation.
Within days, the FBI launched a public appeal, urgently requesting assistance from anyone who might have been near the Grant-Valkaria rest area on the morning of April 17th. They sought surveillance footage, photographs, and firsthand accounts from those present between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m., hoping to piece together González’s last known movements.
González, originally from Cuba, bore distinctive markings that aided in the search. Investigators described a prominent full sleeve tattoo on his left arm, a smaller tattoo on his lower right arm, and the name “Elisia” boldly inked onto his right forearm – details meant to jog the memories of potential witnesses.
The search ultimately yielded a grim discovery. A body, recovered from a coastal region of the state, was positively identified as González. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, with authorities withholding specific details as the investigation continues.
The FBI’s Atlanta and Tampa Field Offices are jointly leading the inquiry, meticulously examining every lead. Anyone possessing information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, is encouraged to come forward and share it with investigators.
